Event Held in Busan to Attract Tourists to Fukuoka

An event to promote the Tenjin district of Fukuoka City as the site offering the latest in fashion information was held on the 28th at a university in Busan, South Korea. As part of the event, the tenants of the Tenjin Core commercial facility conducted their first overseas fashion show. The Nishi-Nippon Railway Co. (Nishitetsu), the owners of Tenjin Core, took the opportunity to promote its bus passes and nimoca, its contactless payment card. South Korean tourism to Japan has declined sharply with the depreciation of the won, and the event was designed to attract new tourists by targeting female college students.
